About Our Farm
Founders Michele Youngquist (right) and Liz Mitchell (left) came together over twenty years ago with just a small patch of dirt and the idea to give pumpkins a personality. This idea became a reality with the development of the signature Pumpkin Patch Pals®, a lively group of hand decorated mini pumpkins known for their spunky personalities and festive looks. The Pumpkin Patch Pals®, inspired by Liz’s passion for elementary education and outreach, are known as Ambassadors of Healthy Eating, Exercise & Fun to children everywhere. Liz passed away in 2012 but her spirit and message live on through the Pals®.
Following the success of the Pals® we at Bay Baby Produce have expanded to include various Home Décor items using our home-grown mini, pie and decorative pumpkins. Our various experiments in designing new products ultimately led us to the exciting development of Fruit Deco®; our own unique, hand decorated and 100% Edible fruit products. Fruit Deco® uses premium Washington grown apples and pears to create one of a kind gifts for any occasion. We can work with you to design a custom logo, use your existing artwork or you can choose from any of our wonderful in-house designs.
From that first small patch of dirt, we have now grown to 700 acres and grow several varieties of Certified Organic hard winter squash in addition to our decorative and edible pie pumpkin varieties. To keep up with our development, we expanded our operation in 2019 and moved into our own 55,000 square foot warehouse in Mt. Vernon, WA.
As of 2022 Nate Youngquist has joined Michele as a partner, and Bay Baby is now a Family Owned Farm.
Here at Bay Baby Produce we keep busy year-round prepping, planting and harvesting to continue supplying our quality products and are proud to be innovators in the Skagit Valley agricultural community.
