As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on quality and sustainability. We are seeking a motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Human Resources Manager.

Position: Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and HR policies, programs, and practices. This role is integral to fostering a healthy workplace culture and ensuring compliance with labor and safety regulations in our farm and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources:

- Support Payroll/Accounting with maintaining employee time records, daily review of timecards.
- Manage staffing, including recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training new hires.
- Coordinate onboarding and training programs for seasonal employees.
- Source and manage employee housing programs.
- Maintain job descriptions and update job requirements.
- Handle employee documents, time-off requests, medical inquiries, retirements, and verifications.
- Oversee employee evaluations, promotions, and incentive programs.
- Implement employee benefit programs and communicate changes and eligibility.
- Ensure legal compliance with federal and state HR regulations, including investigations and record maintenance.
- Complete required L&I documentation related to employee injuries and complaints.
- Enforce HR policies and procedures and recommend updates as needed.
- Oversee social audits conducted by third-party organizations.
- Lead employee training, counseling, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with supervisory staff.
- Retain historical records and ensure timely updates.
- Attend HR-related training as necessary.

- May include similar tasks and projects assigned.

 

Workplace Safety:

- Develop and enforce workplace safety policies in compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse and farm.
- Train employees on safety procedures, equipment handling, and emergency response.
- Maintain safety documentation, including incident and accident reports.
- Promote a culture of safety adherence and lead the Safety Committee.

Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree preferred (minimum high school diploma or GED).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Proven HR and safety management experience (preferably in agriculture or a similar industry).
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, safety regulations, and labor laws.
- Bilingual English/Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.
- Supervisory/managerial experience in a related industry.
- Proficient in office software, time-keeping systems, and HR software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.
- SHRM-SCP certification (or willingness to obtain).

Benefits

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 DOE.
401(k), Medical Insurance, Paid Vacation, and Bonus Eligibility.
